The mission of the Casey Eye Institute Archives Project is to collect, organize, and preserve materials that tell the story of OHSU's Department of Ophthalmology since its beginnings in 1944. Our goal is to create a permanent record of the events and discoveries that have made us a landmark eye institute.
When the CEI Archives are organized, holdings will be available for searching by OHSU and community physicians and other authorized researchers. We are currently gathering materials, including the following:

- letters, photographs, or clippings documenting special events
- documentation of faculty or former faculty members' roles in developing Casey Eye Institute
- publications issued by the department (i.e., handbooks, directories, meeting programs, brochures)
- individual, group or faculty photos
- videotapes and slide presentations pertinent to the history of Casey Eye Institute
