Botox™ Injections

Injections of botulinum toxin, or Botox™, were first used here at Casey Eye Institute/OHSU to treat patients with crossed eyes or strabismus. These injections have also been used successfully in treating involuntary spasms of the facial muscles.

More recently, Botox™ has become tremendously popular as a means of relieving unwanted vertical lines over the nose and between the eyebrows. These lines, called glabellar frown lines, often make patients look angry or worried when they are not, and give a more aged appearance. Other areas amenable to Botox™ treatment are "crow's feet," lip lines, and unsightly neck bands.
