Does my child's ptosis need to be corrected right away?
If the ptosis is not severe, surgery is usually performed when the child is between 3 and 5 years old. If the drooping eyelid obstructs vision almost completely, surgery may be performed earlier to allow the child to develop normal vision in that eye.
