The CVCC LASIK Experience
Preparation for Contact Lens Wearers If you wear hard or gas permeable contact lenses, you must stop wearing them before your pre-op appointment - the general rule is that you should stop wearing them for three weeks or one month for each decade of use. For instance, if you have worn hard contacts for five years, you would stop wearing them three weeks before your pre-op appointment. If you have worn hard contacts for twenty years, you would stop wearing them two months before your assessment. If you have worn hard contacts for many years and are concerned about this, please talk to our staff when you book your pre-op assessment before you cease wearing your hard lenses. There may also be other factors effecting your candidacy for laser vision correction. Soft contact lens wearers should stop wearing contacts for at least one week before the assessment appointment. This is necessary so your cornea can resume its natural shape and be accurately measured during your eye exam. BACK TO TOP |
