Casey Vision Correction Center
Is LASIK For Me?
Attend A Seminar

Are you tired of wearing glasses? Would you like to be able to read the alarm clock or get a glass of water without putting your glasses on? Would you like to be able to see in the shower or swimming pool?

"I had to put on glasses to do anything. I wore contacts for 18 years, but the holes and scratches were debilitating. The contacts became so damaging to my eyes that I was told I had to wear glasses or have surgery. My glasses were frustrating when they fogged up in the rain. They stopped me from doing things I wanted to do like swimming or learning how to water ski. My husband is a good water skier and I was tired of watching."
- Karen M.
If you find yourself in these situations, laser vision correction is a viable option. Reducing your dependency on corrective lenses has major advantages including:
  • Increased comfort while driving, participating in outdoor sports, or doing activities which could cause eye strain.
  • Improved job opportunities: Some professions like firefighting, police work, or flying, are more accessible to applicants who do not wear glasses or contact lenses.
  • Improved self-image: Many people think glasses detract from their appearance.
  • Convenience: Many people are delighted to be free from cleaning contacts or glasses on a regular basis.
You are a good candidate for refractive surgery if you meet the following criteria:
  • Your vision can be corrected to 20/40 or better with glasses or contact lenses.
  • You have no current eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration.
  • You do not have a compromised immune system.
  • You are not pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant within the next year.
  • You do not use steroid pills or eye drops.
If one or more of these conditions do not apply to you, you might still be eligible for laser refractive surgery. If you are uncertain, we encourage you to attend a seminar at Casey Eye Institute.

See for Yourself -- Attend a Seminar
The best patient is a well-informed patient, so we provide free public seminars at Casey Eye Institute. These multimedia lectures present all surgical options for vision improvement. You will meet corneal specialists Dr. Larry F. Rich or Dr. William D. Mathers or other members of the Casey Vision Correction Center's medical team who will candidly answer any questions you have about laser vision correction. Our medical team views these seminars as an opportunity to help you understand your vision correction options, not as a high pressure sales event. It is important that you understand your options and make the decision that is best for you. Check out the Seminar Schedule
