Support Macular Degeneration Research

Why Support Macular Degeneration Research?
With macular degeneration now recognized as the leading cause of adult new blindness in the United States, there is much that needs to be done. Current treatments help a limited number of people, and newer methods are urgently needed. The answer lies in research. You have an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting macular degeneration research.

A World Leader in Eye Research
The Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University is one of the leading eye research institutions in the United States. It is the seventh regional eye research center sponsored by Research to Prevent Blindness, the world's preeminent voluntary organization supporting eye research. It is one of 15 eye institutions designated by the International Foundation Fighting Blindness as a regional center for research and care of patients with retinal and macular degenerations.

Current support for the activities of the Center comes from the George and Carolyn Goodall Foundation, the Joseph F. Paquet Fund, the Frances and Monroe Jubitz Fund, the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Research to Prevent Blindness and individual contributions to the Macular Degeneration Center Fund.
